Residential to France 2017
French Trip 2017
28 pupils in Years 4,5 and 6 and 6 adults, went on a five day residential trip to PGL Chateau du Tertre in Normandy.
As part of the trip, they visited two farms, one produced butter and the other goats cheese which the children had the opportunity to taste. They also visited a bakery where they made their own croissants and sampled the delicious pastries. Other activities included two town trails, one in Ambrieres-les- Vallees and one in Fougeres. The children also visited the local market where they had the opportunity to use their French language skills.
At the PGL centre they took part in many activities including:making crepes, climbing, trapeze, boules, mini Olympics and an evening camp fire, where they toasted marshmallows, sang songs and listened to stories.
At the end of their stay the children visited a Commonwealth War Cemetery in the village of Ranville and finally went to a hypermarket where they purchased gifts for family and friends.
The trip was really enjoyable and everyone had a wonderful time. The school would like to thank all the adults who accompanied them and made the trip such a great success.
