Waste Week

Below are some the activities which the school took part in for Waste Week, where we focussed on learning how to reduce waste and how we can help to improve the local environment.

Red, White and Blue Day ( Waste Week)

For our waste week the children dressed in Red, White and Blue in recognition of the " Clean for the Queen" activities which the ECOol club were taking part in. They also ate a special themed lunch made in our kitchens.

As an additional part of our Waste Week activities, the school challenged the boys and the girls to bring in snacks and packed lunches to school which used as little non-recyclable material as possible. Both teams did amazingly well ,the boys producing the least waste.

Author visit ( Waste Week)

As part of our Waste Week we had a fascinating visit from the author Corrina Brown who created " Carina and the Scentvilles" This book is about the Scenties who try to keep the island they live on smelling sweet and free from waste and rubbish. The books are uniquely scented and the four main characters encourage the reader to think about how they can keep their local environment more like Scentville.

MOMO Theatre Production( Waste Week)

MOMO Theatre Productions visited the school in Waste Week to perform their interactive play about sustainability and road safety. It was an amusing and informative production, and the children thoroughly enjoyed it.
