In May 2017 St. Joseph's was graded as 'GOOD' by OFSTED. We are very proud of this. Ofsted stated 'Effective leadership and teaching have ensured that the school’s end-of-key-stage test results are now significantly above the national expected average in all areas reported on'.

Curriculum

At St. Joseph’s we deliver a broad and balanced curriculum in line with the National Curriculum which is enriched by a variety of extra-curricular activities and additional learning opportunities. There is a strong emphasis on the teaching of reading, writing and mathematics.

All work is carefully planned to take account of the age and ability of the children in each class and to provide continuity and progression through the school. Work is meaningful and children are given purposeful opportunities to develop skills that will benefit them in the future. Children are taught whole class lessons, group work and practical experiences. Children are encouraged and supported to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens.

Parents requiring further information about the curriculum can access our school website or speak to their child’s class teacher.
